Doug Gardner - Dubois to Lander....75 miles. My day started with discovering my 4th flat tire. I had stored my bike in a shed provided by the ¤motel owners, and we found a small metal sliver that I think might have come from the shed floor. Anyway, with some help from Howard, I was ready to roll and hoped my 5th tube would carry me further. Breakfast was notable for the largest and best pancakes to date. We rode 44 miles a( a great speed with downhill and a tail wind . My peak downhill speed was 44.7 mph. The scenery remained arid and dry, but the sky clouded and we got drizzled on. Howard, the Yogi Berra of cycling, said "something has hit us on the head from the sky ever day." We rode through the towns of Crowheart and Fort Washakie in the Wind River Indian Reservation. Finally, we stopped in Lander, ate at Tony's and searched for City Park. It turned out to be a beautiful shaded and grassy place to stay. Their Recreation center had a pool and jacuzzi we were able to use as well as showers for only $2.00. We made phone calls, wrote in journals, joked and laughed, and had Dominos Pizza delivered to us at the Park. We watched an owl flying around the Park before calling it a night
