June 22
Doug Gardner - We left from West Fork RV Campgrounds after having found ice on the tents. We sat in the shower room to be near the electric heater while we waited for laundry to finish. We called Yellowstone to be sure we would have a place to stay this night. We had. Breakfast d miles down route. We rode past Earthquake lake, where an avalanche was triggered by an earthquake, sealing a canyon so that the river in it backed up a,d either buried or drowned many campers on the canyon floor. We were excited to see. Bighorn sheep. We nearly circumvented Hebgen Lake, and approached West Yellowstone. There, we rented a car, located our campground, then drove the car into the park hoping to see wildlife at dusk. We saw deer, elk, nursing buffalo calves. We saw hot springs, and Old Faithful. At end of rainstorm, we saw a rainbow over Old Faithful Inn, drove back to West Yellowstone.
